Welcome to Empowering Minds!
The Empowering Minds Learning Network serves 13 Irish primary schools, 24 classrooms, 29 teachers, and over 500 students. It is an offshoot of the Empowering Minds project, in which teachers and students explored the theme "Story, Myth, and Legend" with digital technologies. One of the technologies used was the MIT Programmable Brick, which extends a LEGO construction kit, enabling children to build models that interact with the physical world through sensors and motors. There are four areas to this site. You can learn all about the project and its participants in the About Us area. The Media area contains sounds, pictures, and videos from each school. The Documents area contains publications. You can ask questions to the participants in the Discussions area, or read some of their reflections on the project. This site currently hosts over 1462.93 gb of learner-uploaded content.
