Rethinking Learning through Story and Digital Technologies in Primary Classrooms
We've introduced digital technologies in primary school classrooms across Ireland, along with a framework for teacher professional development that recognizes teachers' passions and interests in bringing about pedagogical change. One of the technologies we use is the MIT Programmable Brick which extends a LEGO construction kit, enabling children to build models that interact with the physical world through sensors and motors. The theme explored by the teachers and students in the first phase of the project was "Story, Myth and Legend". Through this research, we hope to foster a new way of thinking about digital technologies and learning.

Towards a Constructionist Learning Network
We are hoping to showcase the terrific work done by the teachers and students in the project, allowing them to share their work with each other, with their communities, and with the world. This web site contains multimedia learning stories from all of the learners in the project - teachers and students alike. The website, like the original project, is rooted in the Constructionist philosophy of learning. We hope that the ideas and work presented here will inspire you to explore a new field or build something you've always wanted to.
